I find it next to impossible to believe that a bike with a shock absorber on the front end of this 50 pound solidly built bike can have a battery crap out so easily.now let me tell you about myself,i am here in southeast michigan and i own the same kind of bike and the owner of the shop where i got it from knows me as a customer that keeps coming back because of the battery or the electric system or the switchbox on the left handlebar, almost since i got this bike after haveing to wait for it to arrive late it was then time after time that i will pedal and then my power from the battery just stops and i check the battery and either the level of power is small than i think it should be or the level stays the same no matter how long i had been using the motor and lately all of the power indicator lights have lit whenever i check how much power is left and its stayed that way since and the motor kept stopping and this was maybe 2 months ago? and just after it started doing that i took out the battery and been going without the power assist for about 2 months now. after having gotten it back from the same bikeshop where i bought it from.and before i go on i want to say that i am not blaming anything on the shop owner because i know that he has been decent to me and making a real effort to get it fixed whenever i brought it in.when i asked about other owners that bought this same kind of bike from his shop he told me that there are 5 i think and none of them have had the kind of trouble that i been having i think he also said they been coming in just for a tune up or maybe to get a flattire fixed but that was about it,i also want to say that after i tried several ways to find a website that has disgruntled owners and i found ALMOST nothing on the internet so far.I remember a letter i sent to the schwinn company complaining about the battery not holding as much power as i thought it should when i travel since the charge ran out sooner than expected,so i got a reply telling me that owners have reported having gone longer while others reported a shorter distance.I am running out of other things to tell about other than i have been going to the shop on and off ever since i got this bike that arrived months late and also most people that see this kind of bike give a good opinion about it and i tell them about what it has and can do and the price of it and some are surprised.as i am now not sure what else to tell you of i will now stop here and i wil be getting ahold of the company about fixing the motor assist soon and if you care to reply about what could be wrong with our bikes then you got my email address its shadowthief38@msn.com and i would not mind getting a reply so for now, bye.
